  1. Golden Gate Bridge

Of course, when visiting San Francisco, you must see the Golden Gate Bridge, the state’s most famous landmark! We then went to Muir Woods. It is an iconic location that is well worth a visit. If you want to see it from the water, take the Golden Gate Bay Cruise! Or, rent a Go Car for a GPS-guided tour! If you drive, to pay a high toll – yet you only have had to pay it once, that’s a plus!

  1. Bay Area Discovery Museum

Your children will enjoy the Bay Area Discovery Museum, which is located. You are right next to the Golden Gate Bridge, and you can see it while exploring the museum. You can also take some fun pictures in the parking lot with the museum in the background. They also had a lot of fun activities and exhibits for the kids, including both indoor and outdoor options.

It was a bit on the younger side (our 11-year-old was a little too old but he still found things to do). Check the hours – they usually close at 5 p.m. – and also look for events – if you can go during an event, there will be more people, but there will also be more to do. Get in for free with your Reciprocal Museum membership! It’s also worth noting that they have a cute children’s restaurant on-site.

  1. Lands’ End

Lands’ End is a National Monument in the San Francisco National Parks system. It is a beautiful location on the water that used to be a famous bathhouse. The bathhouse is no longer in use, but you can walk around the grounds and explore the ruins. It is a beautiful area and another way to get away from the city and all its fun and craziness. They also have an adorable gift shop.

A bright day would be ideal. But even though it was cloudy, it was still beautiful. There is a car park on site, so you ought to be able to find a spot to park and then exit to walk approximately.

  1. Pier 39

Here’s an activity right in the heart of the city! A busy shopping and entertainment district! It has a cool vibe and looks and feel to it, as well as some fun shops and restaurants that you should check out.

We walked around Pier 39 and checked out a few shops before sitting down to eat… and then we left our backpack on an open seat at our table, and someone came by and stole it! Be cautious down here because it is a known hotspot for such incidents. Look for the sunbathing Sea Lions and, if time allows, visit the Aquarium on The Bay. If you want to continue exploring, go to Fisherman’s Wharf for more restaurants and shops.

  1. Golden Gate Park

Golden Gate Park is a great place to get out in nature without having to leave the city. Stow Lake, Ocean Beach, as well as the Japanese Tea Vegetable patch are just a few of the attractions in the park. The park is enormous!! We didn’t get to visit all those places, but the kids had a great time at the Koret Playground! They had a slide that required you to sit on a cardboard box to slide down it! So cool and so San Francisco! Grab a Go Car and enjoy this GPS-guided tour of the city’s parks and beaches.

  1. San Francisco Zoo

The San Francisco Zoo is a fantastic zoo full of animals that you and your children will enjoy seeing. They also have a fantastic park where the kids can play. You could spend an entire day here looking at the animals and playing in the park. With a fast fuel stop for just a snack. When it gets cooler outside, the animals become more active. There is a large parking lot nearby, so you can park and walk in.

  1. Lombard Street

Take a walk to check out this cool zig-zagging street known as the most crooked street! You can drive down Lombard Street, but walking allowed us to take our time and enjoy the scenery. You’ll also get to walk up some of San Francisco’s steep streets. It’s best to walk there; there’s some street parking nearby. be aware of the steep ascent! Check out the electric Tuk Tuk City Tour if you have children or a large group!
